CVA 205 Evaluation

Overall this has been a good project although maybe my finished outcomes were not as complete as I may have liked. I maybe would've liked to have seen more progress with Nickelodeon at this stage but judging that I have pulled off the Rave on Air PIXEL exhibition so well I feel my time has been well utilised to prioritise other projects like ROA. I have enjoyed experimenting with dynamics in 3D and this has been a good learning curve which I later would aim to implement in other projects and perhaps teach others in the group who know little about dynamics. In terms of 3D modeling and texturing I have really moved up a step with my work on Wez showing I can create practically anything I design fully on paper first and this means I can be versatile amongst both pre-production and production phases.

The biggest achievement with the term has to be ROA and how this came together and I am still very happy with what I have achieved in 205 but I can see that the time devoted to ROA has been well worth it instead of more time on Nick or Veronica. Overall I think I have balanced all the areas well to produce an array of work rather than just burying my head in one project. I like this versatility and for me it keeps things fresh. Generally this term has been a great success with a great end to the term showing Ravensbourne what CVA is really all about! Hopefully my efforts have provided the platform for others to sell themselves to industry delegates and get the start in their design careers that they need.

End of Project Production Schedule

This is my final production schedule update. As you can see I now have full completion on the Showreel project, Rave on Air and my personal assets as well as PPD and Contextual studies. Nickelodeon and Veronica are still in some stages of production. Nickelodeon is of course continuing to work towards the 21st July deadline for the final film and I feel I am at a good stage now to succeed to that deadline. As for Veronica I will no doubt be developing the work further for SCI FI in line with what they want and if they like what I have so far I will still need to finish the ident better in terms of editing and sound design.

Overall this schedule has been a valuable tool and seeing the amount of work I have accomplished just here really puts into perspective what I have achieved this term and how I have gone about doing it in such an organised way.

Veronica Ident 2

This is another version of the ident for Veronica Magazine. It has a slightly better feel I think and flows a lot more subtly than the other version which has a much higher pace and tempo. I think this slower version may suit SCI FI alot more to fit with the brand.

Circus Animatic

This is a new animatic of my animation. I am going to be sticking with this circus concept. I really think the timing of the gags here and the sound is what makes it all work and fit together nicely. Overall I am really pleased with how it builds up to the conclusion at the end and I think this softer approach will suit the target audience more, especially with the vibrancy of the backgrounds etc.

Wez Modeling Board

This is the board I will present at my pitch to Nick. I think it demonstrates my ability to pull the idea off in 3D while also giving the panel a much better feel about the character rather than just a drawing. Overall I think this could be a very good thing to show at my pitch to enthuse the panel of creatives.

How to Animate a Quirky Robot

Hopefully this will give me a few tips on how to animate a successful robot. I personally love this animation and its simplicity is what makes it work. I need to have this kind of character in my work. I will use this as reference later on when animating.

Week 9 Production Schedule

This is my final week of production. Obviously my main focus is putting up the ROA exhibition but I will also be bringing together the last features for Jared's submission. This will include much of the animated content for Veronica Magazine and all the pre-production work and modeling I have done for Nickelodeon so far. I have made lots of progress this past week with preparation for the exhibition and I have also completed pretty much all my other units of work so I have complete dedication to ROA this week.
